about us
My name is Ann Pettit and I started Suede Studio.
Although I work with many experienced and talented colleagues, Suede Studio consists of just me. I'm able to provide one-on-one service to my clients, while choosing professional services on a case-by-case basis. I believe this gives me the flexiblity to work with the most appropriate professionals for the job.
I grew up in Nebraska with traditional midwest values and feel it's important to be honest and reliable with everyone I meet.
I've won various awards for my work and have been an active member of the AIGA Las Vegas chapter since 2005. I recently joined AIGA's Board of Directors.
My story: My family moved from Nebraska to Arizona in the late '80s. I graduated from the University of Arizona in 1994 with a B.F.A. in graphic design and have been working as a designer ever since. Almost immediately after graduating, I moved to Las Vegas and (with the exception of some time in the San Francisco Bay area) have been here ever since. I've worked in design firms and publishing companies. Most recent job was creative director of a national poker magazine.
The name: You may be asking yourself "Why the name Suede Studio?". I came up with the name because of my long history of sewing, furniture design, fabrics and upholstery. I started sewing at the age of four, began upholstering furniture when I was a teenager, and started weaving in my early 20s. I'm always interested in fabrics and the textures that come from various weaving materials and techniques. |
